"Many are called, but few are chosen" -Matthew 22:14
The journey to take the road less traveled by this young man started at the early age of 18 when he decided to enter the portals of the Philippine National Police Academy with high hopes that he could survive the struggle to win supremacy over himself.
His decision was never easy without the influence and encouragement of his family and his aunt, who was also a graduate of the academy. He was encouraged by the story, experience, and promising future, which is far different from what he likes to pursue- to become a lawyer. He never dreams of wearing combat shoes, holding guns, undergoing training, and standing under the sun's radiating heat.
But he challenged himself and made a tough decision.
"I can do this!"
He tried to look on the positive side of his decision-promising job and a chance to serve the country and its people in his quest to take the road less traveled without hesitations.
He persevered to complete all the documentary requirements needed, Mailed his application form, and patiently waited for his name to appear in the master list of applicants who is qualified to take the Philippine National Police Academy Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT) 2018.
After months of praying, he received a message that he was among 15,000 applicants nationwide qualified to take the PNPACAT 2018. He made necessary preparations such as overnight reviews, research, and countless readings. Part of his preparations was to take several college admission tests to different universities as his fallback plan if he could not make it this year to enter PNPA.
On the 28th day of October 2018, he took the PNPACAT prepared and confident enough.
After a month, his hard work paid off when the results came out, and he was one of the 1330 applicants who luckily passed the admission test.
He thought the process was already done. However, he still needs to undergo four (4) more phases of the admission process.
This time, he is now determined to enter the academy and be part of the long maroon line. In preparation for the next phase of the admission process, he woke up early every morning to run and spent his time to gain strength and to be physically fit. He continued to read more books, searched different neuro-psychology questions, assessed his health, and dubbed interviews. Most importantly, he never forget to sought help and guidance of our Dear Almighty.
With his faith, hard work, and dedication, he was part of the 285 applicants who successfully passed the Physical Agility Test (PAT), Psychological and Psychiatric Examination (PPE), Physical, Medical, and Dental Examination (PMDE), and the Panel Interview respectively.
The turning point of his life happened when he raised his right arm and took the oath at the hallowed ground of the premiere police academy in our country on the 4th day of March 2019. Having only his family as his inspiration, his courage and bravery as his tool, and God as his guide.
With the hopes that he will be transformed from ordinary youth to a mature individual who is a God-centered, competent, and trustworthy public safety leader.
